What a tune-up includes
- Balance test and spring tension adjustment
- Lubrication of springs, hinges, rollers and opener rail
- Tightening every bracket, hinge and lag bolt (doors move thousands of times a year and shake hardware loose)
- Roller, cable and bottom-bracket wear inspection
- Opener force limits, travel limits and photo-eye safety test
- Weather seal check, because Raleigh pollen season and summer storms find every gap
Why it pays for itself
Almost every emergency call we run, from the snapped spring to the frayed cable to the door off its track, announced itself months earlier as a squeak, a shudder, or a slightly crooked close. A tune-up catches those signals while they're cheap. It also keeps openers within their designed force limits, which is what protects the motor and the door from each other.
What you can do yourself
Twice a year: watch the door run and listen for new noises, check the photo-eyes are clean and aimed at each other, and test auto-reverse by placing a 2x4 flat under the door. Leave spring adjustments, cable work and anything under tension to us.
