Carriage House
By Design garage doors
Wood carriage house doors made to order in 10 designs and 4 species, each one designed with you and quoted on its own.
By Design is Amarr's custom wood line. Nothing in it comes off a shelf. Each door is worked out with the homeowner, built to order and quoted on its own. The process begins with a conversation about the house rather than a catalog page. The doors are carriage house in style, with the look of swing-out barn doors and the overhead operation of a sectional.
The line holds 10 designs. Sutcliff, Roberts, Easton, Lowry, Preston, Hudson and Terry are named patterns, and 7020 and 7010 are numbered ones. Custom Design is the open brief for a door drawn from scratch. All 10 come in 4 woods: Incense Cedar, Clear Vertical Grain Cedar, Red Grandis and Mahogany. All take custom windows, so the glazing can follow the house rather than a stock insert.
Every design carries the Energy Efficient designation, and WindPro wind-load reinforcement is available where local building codes call for it. On a farmhouse, a craftsman or a colonial, a wood door from this line is usually the piece that ties the elevation together.
