Modern and glass garage doors
Flush steel, plank faces and aluminum frames full of glass, for houses that have already gone to clean lines.
Modern garage doors drop the panel lines. Some are flush steel with nothing on the face at all, some carry a plank or grooved pattern, and the full-view doors are aluminum frames holding panes of tempered glass so the door becomes a wall of light. They belong on contemporary builds, mid-century ranches, studio garages and renovations that have already gone to clean trim, black windows and horizontal siding.
The 29 modern and glass designs here come from 15 collections. The glass doors take clear, frosted or tinted panes, and insulated glass is an option on the aluminum-frame collections, which matters when the garage is heated, cooled or used as a room. The flush and plank steel doors come with insulated versions, and one aluminum line dresses its frame in architectural surfaces for a texture steel cannot give.
Glass doors are also the ones where width and layout change the look most: a double door with long horizontal panes reads differently from two single doors with square ones. Filter by material, windows or door width to compare, and use the free design tool linked on every door page to see a design on a photo of your own house before you decide. The R-value guide covers what insulated glass does and does not do.
